US Consul General (CG) – Will Stevens, visits Heartland Alliance facility
The US Consul General (CG) – Will Stevens, visited the Lagos Island One-stop-shop (OSS) managed by Heartland Alliance Nigeria Ltd/Gte (HALG) on 24th January 2023 to tour the lubricant and sanitizer production factory. The establishment of the factory is PEPFAR/USAID’s initiative to amplify its current HIV prevention efforts and demonstrate a capacity for local commodity production. During the visit, the CG presented 5 Laptops to the Lagos State Health Management Agency (LASHMA) highlighting the USG’s health sector investment towards sustainability and resolve to strengthen and expand the Lagos State state health insurance program through health systems strengthening.

Production Factory Tour
HALG/KP CARE 1 with support from USAID established the lubricant production factory in 2022 to increase the availability of quality and affordable lubricants to the KP community. The lubricant production factory is undergoing final regulatory approvals from the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC). The production factory demonstrates the potential of PEPFAR/USAID to amplify its current HIV prevention efforts, and demonstrate a capacity for local commodity production.
