Jake Effoduh is a Partner at Praxis & Gnosis Law, Nigeria. He is an international human rights lawyer with programmatic experience from working across 28 African countries. He has gained ample experience in human rights advocacy at four ranks of human rights systems: at the domestic level (in Nigeria and partly in Canada); sub-regional West African human right system (ECOWAS court); regional African human rights system (African Commission); and mostly at the international level (especially the United Nations Human Rights Council). He is an alumnus of the University of Abuja and holds two master’s degrees in International Law from the University of Oxford in the UK, and York University in Canada. For 12 years, he anchored 2 of Nigeria’s most popular radio programmes on health and human rights which aired on over 150 stations with more than 35 million Nigerians tuning-in weekly. In 2016, he was listed as a World Economic Forum Global Expert on Human Rights. He has published widely on various human rights issues and has won several awards for his work on human rights.
