Forth May, two thousand and twenty-two, Heartland Alliance- Nigeria Uyo One-Stop-Shop was commissioned as a full Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) by the First Lady and Wife of the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Dr. (Mrs) Martha Udom Emmanuel. This was done in partnership and collaboration with the State Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Management Committee chaired by the first lady.

The commissioning is a show of recognition by the state GBV Mechanism for the services Heartland Alliance- Nigeria with support and funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) provides for victims of violence in the state.

#HALG works at the intersection of #Health and #Humanrights– the #SAR-Center will provide survivors of violence life-saving services.
