Heartland Alliance Nigeria Ltd/Gte (HALG) held its inaugural Board of Directors meeting in Lagos, Nigeria from February 14th to 18th, 2023. The meeting, which included training for board members, was attended by all board members and HALG senior management.
The meeting provided a platform for the board and management to discuss and finalize critical organizational issues, including operations, business development, program and project advisory, sustainability, and strategic development plans. Additionally, the meeting comprised a two-day training that covered various topics, including Governance/Leadership, board roles and responsibilities, relevant corporate governance laws and their importance, board structure and operations, as well as recruitment processes. This training was intended to further position the board to support HALG more effectively.
During the meeting, the board visited the Lagos Island One-stop-shop (OSS) managed by HALG, where they toured the clinic, laboratory, pharmacy, maternity ward, and the lubricant and sanitizer factory within the facility. This visit provided the board with an opportunity to gain firsthand knowledge of the facility’s operations and services.
